“The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1
INTRO: Welcome to room number two: “Light delights”. Enter into this room and discover the playfulness of light. Light is interactive, inviting us to come and join the fun. Step into the colored spotlights, and see how the light dances in your shadows. Notice how the light mixes and moves throughout the room. Rediscover the joy of exploring light as a child—delighting in shadows, colors, and reflections. Linger here, and play.
WHAT IT MEANS: God’s light also is such a part of our everyday experience that we don’t notice it. It is God’s light that moves us to love, and that shines in our hearts to help us understand right from wrong. It is God’s Light that helps us to perceive eternal things. God’s light is what gives joy to human hearts and is what prevents the world from sinking into total despair. The presence of God’s light in the world gives people hope even if they do not know God intimately. All people living on the earth are aware of this light and enjoy this light, but few recognize the light as the Person of Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us—(Christ is) the true light, which gives light to everyone and that He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, - John 1:9-12 Do you know the Light that surrounds you daily?
PRAYER: Your light is wonderful, Lord! It shines out a grand “I love you” in brilliant sunsets, twinkling stars, and dancing flames. You created light to reflect you like a mirror, to show me what you’re like, to help me know you, to brighten my heart. God, you surprise me! You are different than what I imagined. You are good and beautiful. All the goodness and beauty in this world come from you. My heart soars with hope when I see your light!
