It is clear from Scripture that God’s dreams for us are beyond what we could imagine in terms of fullness and abundant life. Even the casual reading of Scripture reveals countless promises of spiritual power. As a church we are hungry for the greater things God has in mind for us. I am convinced that there is an anointing available 100 times greater, maybe 1000 times greater, than what we presently experience. Many of us have read about moments in church history when followers of Jesus have been infused with grace in dramatic measure. We are desperate for this sort of thing. We want it not just because it would be exciting. We want it because we know that we need it in order to make an impact in this generation. This week I'll be talking about the courage that God gives in order to lay hold of this overflowing life. God wants to move us from our present place of being a small container that occasionally overflows to being a mighty rushing river of the Spirit!
Like last month we will be including the kids in our service in an effort to celebrate this upcoming generation and also to allow them to experience God with us. We believe that what happens in the kids rooms - Nest, Meadow, Forest and Valley - is important but we also want to see our kids worship with us as one family.
So if you're a parent plan on bringing your children into the sanctuary at the start of service (the Nest will still be open at the start of service for the babies). We will do two songs of celebration and then call all the kids with their parents to come to the front to be prayed for. I know we don't usually do that and it might be uncomfortable for some but it's nothing to be nervous about. I just plan on praying one simple prayer for everyone. After that parents will bring their children into their classrooms with the exception of the Valley boys and girls who will stay in the whole service upstairs.
Also, we will be having a meeting after service this Sunday about noon in the lower level (Valley) to discuss some new policies, connect with each other and learn about the vision of the kids ministry here at Ren. Lunch will be served and a movie will be shown in the kids theatre for any kids who will be in attendance. This meeting is primarily for all kids workers but is open to those who want to find out more about this exciting ministry. Contact Michaela, our kids director, to let her know you are coming if you did not receive an evite. Her email is michaelalgunn@gmail.com.
