All Ren small groups are taking a pause for a couple weeks and the next cycle begins the third week in September through to December. Most of the groups will continue with the same leaders and formats but there will be some changes. For example, some groups will physically gather at the church building in the sanctuary. The way that will work is everyone attending will enter the building with masks. Once seated in the circle, at a proper social distance (6 feet), masks will be dropped. Exiting the building masks will be worn.
Be sure to review the updated list of small groups when it comes out. If the small group you were in last cycle doesn’t exist anymore then just sign up for a different group. If the group you were in is no longer meeting through Zoom but is gathering physically at the church, and you aren’t ready for that, then just jump into another group. If you have not been in a small group—this is the time to join one!
This cycle most of the groups will be studying a book of the Bible. In fact, several groups will be doing 1 Peter together so they can share resources. The purpose of small groups is not only to deepen your understanding of the Bible though. It is to build relationships; to be known. It is to practice the “one anothers” of Scripture—love, serve, pray for, exhort, admonish, teach … one another. So I encourage each of you to be in at least one group.
