For some time now I've been unsettled about the format of our mid-week gathering called Refresh. Since the start of the church we have always had at least one earnest fiery intercessory prayer gathering a week. This is what Refresh used to be but has evolved into more of a mid-week service with singing and Bible study. Obviously worship and teaching are good and have their place but I've been feeling a deep stirring to return to the simplicity of just coming together to cry out to God. Because the weeknights are tough for families I decided to move the prayer to Saturdays and shorten it to one hour 6-7 pm. So Saturdays 6-7 pm we will gather for what I'm calling the “Tent of Meeting” in the spirit of Exodus 33 where Moses and Joshua and others sought the Lord. With all the things we are dreaming about for the upcoming days we must return to the practice of coming together to cry out in desperate prayer for God to move.
