This past Sunday was an exciting day as we held another special event to refresh the people of God and introduce people to the church and to Christ. We brought in musical artists Scarlet Fade, who could be described as passionate and potent worship with an edge.
We had a time of prayer in the afternoon to prepare for the event, and then teams of 2-3 people went out into our surrounding neighborhood to personally meet and invite our neighbors for some free food and music. Despite the heat, we were able to connect with a good number of people who were out on front porches, sidewalks, parks, etc.
At 5pm we began serving free meals and cold drinks and soon the cafe was packed with a mix of people from REN, the neighborhood, other churches, and the surrounding community. Soon after that we had a couple opening acts warm up the stage, and then Scarlet Fade filled the rest of the evening with passionate and beautiful songs.
