Last Sunday marked our very first step in reaching out to the immediate neighbors around the church. Several of us went out in the afternoon, despite the rain, and found many people to talk with. We invited the neighbors to come for a panini sandwich and to enjoy a free concert by artist Jonas Woods. By the time of the concert it was pouring rain and the air was cold but many streamed in. It was a beautiful sight to see. I would guess at least 50 homeless came in and many of them stayed for the worship. Many relationships were built. I was so proud of the Ren community for the ways they poured out love to people. So I just wanted to report that it was a great success on Sunday. This is just the beginning.
